IT RADIO NETWORK NOW FEATURING INTERVIEWS WITH TOP EXECS FROM EXPEDIA.COM AND IBM
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA October 12th, 2000 -- IT Radio Network, "The Voice of eBusiness," is now featuring in-depth interviews with Richard Barton, CEO of Expedia.com (Nasdaq: EXPE) and Mads Toubro, Director of eCommerce for IBM Global Services (NYSE: IBM).
During the interview with Richard Barton, he discussed the travel agents of the future, customer service, rich media and Expedia Radio.
Barton discussed the integration of broadband rich media into the world of Internet travel sites. "The travel planning experience just gets better as bandwidth increases," said Barton. "When a pipe that comes into your home and really broadens out, youre able to do richer things and use more multimedia, more pictures and video. Travel planning is a fantastic application that benefits from it."
During the interview with Mads Toubro, he discussed the new definition of "global", the growth rates of eMedia and some of the clients that IBM is currently working with.
Toubro discussed how just because a company has a Web site doesnt mean that they have gone global. "The Internet by nature is really reaching all corners of the world," said Toubro. "A company needs to understand the fact that not only do they have to manage customers that speak different languages, but that they have to deliver their services or goods to different countries. So the answer is that a company needs to be very, very focused in the up front planning and strategizing on what they want to achieve as a company."
